I will not deny that I've always been amazed by the law in Mexico because many of them are based on precepts that those who unwittingly created , are biblical, as is the case that the law stipulates that the constitution as any other rule of law, repealing the previous ones of equal or lower rank, if they are directly opposed to the Constitution.
In a spiritual sense, something similar happens, the Bible exhorts us to hang on to our authorities, but if it is opposed to the supreme law, ie, the word of God, it must ignore that authority.
Today there are a lot of 'Christian leaders' who claim the opposite of this truth, saying he must obey the "authority" blindly, even if the leader was on a error, which is totally and completely absurd, besides being contrary to what God says.
In the Bible we find many cases in which men were asked God to do something contrary to what he provides and they flatly refused, deciding to obey God's law first, even if it cost them life. Such is the case of Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah, Paul, Peter and John, just to name a few.
The case of Peter and John is quite interesting to analyze. After God performed a miracle through them healing a man who was lame from birth whom they laid at the entrance of the temple to beg, entering the place began to glorify God by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ boldly, but seeing that the temple priests are upset at the extent to apprehend and question but they are unable to do anything against him as they had done a miracle which could not be denied that came from God, so they decide to release them, but not before he threatened and intimidated to not share the name of Jesus, which immediately responded:
Judge if is right before God to obey you rather than God, because we can not say what we have seen and heard. Acts 4:19-20
I think this passage is quite clear, but managed to distinguish something that is very interesting concerning the attitude of the Jewish priests of the temple and take the attitude that Peter and John.
Priests to face something that opposed them, first tried to stop after realizing that they found no real elements with which to condemn but on the contrary, they begin to use intimidation and threats.
On the other hand the attitude of Paul and John at the situation and the threats they received is to obey God first, openly opposing the authority of priests.
Seeing these attitudes leave something to my teaching:
Those leaders who know they are doing something wrong act always trying to stop people and enslave them, while God has come to bring freedom and those who are subjected to it know that no matter the consequences, the supreme law to which we must obey is his word, which endures forever.
